SESSION 1679 MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL September 30, 1996 At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Monday, September 30, 1996, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addi- tion to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: Mr. Hardy Ware Mr. Wayne I. Munkel Mr. Robert G. Wagner Mr. Lawrence Lieberman Mr. Paul E. Schoomer Mrs. Betty L. Thompson Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. MINUTES September 9, 1996 Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes of the regular meeting held September 9, 1996, as submit- ted. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. September 21, 1996 Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the minutes of the special meeting held September 21, 1996, as sub- mitted. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. APPOINTMENTS Mayor Adams moved the appointments and expiration dates of the following members of the newly formed Parkview Gardens Special Business District Advisory Commission: Mr. Tom Goodman, 6601 Vernon (Oct. 21, 1997); Ms. Teresa Kragness, 6627 Clemens (Oct. 21, 1998); Mr. Mike Giger, 830 Vanderbilt (Oct. 21, 1999); Mr. Dan Wald, 6490 Enright (Oct. 21, 1998); and Mr. Dennis Lutsky, 25 Southmoor (Oct. 21, 1999). Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. RESOLUTION HONORING UNIVERSITY CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT State Representative Sheila Lumpe presented a resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives which honors the University City Police Department on gaining national accreditation. Mayor Adams noted that this program took a great deal of work, time, and effort by the department, which is one of only three in the entire metropolitan area to complete the necessary requirements to gain this coveted distinction.
