<br />She said the City officials repeatedly say that it is not needed since they have <br />an audit done yearly but this is what Metro also said; yet the state auditor <br />found millions of dollars of questionable spending. An audit by the state <br />would provide an analysis of the operation of the City government including <br />the failure to provide information in compliance with all state laws, the <br />transparency and the accountability that is necessary in a democracy. She <br />gave an example of the Pleasant Hope School Districts audit findings and that <br />it also had an audit done each year. Ms. Carr stated that voters made in clear <br />that they did not have complete confidence in the City government, with a <br />sixty-three percent NO vote on a tax increase in the August 4 election. <br /> <br />Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave <br />Mr. Dockett complimented Mr. Rod Jennings for pulling together the passage <br />of Proposition U. He stated that U City is on the move and hopes it continues <br />to move forward and not backwards. <br /> <br />th <br />Kymo Dockett, 244 60 St. NE <br />Mr. Dockett identified himself as Richard Dockett’s son. He thanked the <br />Council for the proclamation given to him in 2006 for his book, “The Lost <br />Generation.” He asked the Council to continue to support U City’s youth. <br /> <br />Lowell Smith, 1153 Glenside Lane <br />Mr. Smith asked if the City Council could assist him in quieting the music from <br />Escalade Bar and Grill. He has talked to the owners and the police have <br />been called but the loud music continues. Mr. Smith said he had a petition <br />signed by six neighbors complaining about the loud music. <br /> <br />Lee Pegues, 1150 Glenside Lane <br />Mr. Pegues has lived there for 36 years and stated he has seen many floods. <br />He would like to know when he will get some answers to many of the <br />questions as to when the City will buy them out or solve their flooding <br />problem. <br /> <br />Arnold Kendall, 6705 Crest Ave. <br />Mr. Kendall is concerned about the $25 fee for rental apartments. He felt this <br />is harmful for the senior population needing to rent and are on a fixed income. <br /> <br />Bobette Luckett, 7901 Glenside Place <br />Ms. Luckett stated there are many residents in the second phase and need to <br />know what is going to happen with their homes that continually flood. She <br />wants to know what is going to happen, what’s going to happen with them <br />and when it is going to happen. <br /> <br />Edward McCarthy, 7101 Princeton Ave. <br />Mr. McCarthy stated that he did not believe it is U City kids causing problems <br />in the Loop. If we need something in order to work with the kids then the <br />Council needs to work on the budget to come up with some money. He <br />stated he had a problem with saying you have 60 policemen, do you have 60 <br />policemen or can you have 51. Mr. McCarthy would like to have the budget <br />re-discussed. He would also like to see the signs on Groby Road saying No <br />Parking removed and instead have signs posted for residential parking only in <br /> <br />
