SESSION 1675 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 19, 1996 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber of City Hall on <br />Monday, August 19, 1996, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition <br />to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardy Ware <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Lawrence Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmember Robert G. Wagner, who was excused. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />July 29, 1996 <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the minutes of the regular meeting held July 29, 1996, as submitted. <br />Mr. Ware seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />August 12, 1996 <br />Mr. Munkel moved that the minutes of the special meeting held August 12, 1996, be approved as sub- <br />mitted. Mr. Lieberman seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Mrs. Andrea Ratner and Mr. Edward Hansell, recently reappointed to the Board of Adjustment and <br />Library Board, respectively, were given the oath of office by the City Clerk. Mayor Adams thanked Mrs. <br />Ratner and Mr. Hansell, adding that their work is invaluable in helping the City move forward. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS - NEW TAX INCREMENT FINANCING COMMISSION <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said a new Tax Increment Financing Commission was approved at the last meeting, and <br />he moved the appointments of the following members: Daniel Talonn (three year term); Nancy Kaufman <br />(three year term); Carolyn Herzog (four year term); Peter H. Green (four year term); Dee Joyner (two <br />year term); and Willie Norfleet (two year term). Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br />He noted two other members have been appointed from the School District--Barbara Santoro, and <br />Richard Wells, and there will be a ninth appointee from St. Louis County. <br /> <br /> <br />
