SESSION 1672 MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL July 15, 1996 A special meeting of the City Council of University City was held in Room 6 of City Hall on Monday, July 15, 1996, to consider bids for completion of Phase II work on the Heman Park recreation facility. Notice of the meeting was posted on Friday, July 12, 1996. Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. The following members of the Council were present: Mr. Wayne I. Munkel (arrived at 5:05 p.m.) Mr. Robert G. Wagner Mr. Lawrence Lieberman Mr. Paul E. Schoomer Mrs. Betty L. Thompson Absent: Councilmember Hardy Ware, who was excused. Also present were City Manager Frank Ollendorff and Deputy City Manager Kimberley Trombly. HEMAN PARK RECREATION FACILITY/PHASE II AND COMMUNITY CENTER ADA WORK The City Manager said bids for Phase II of the recreation facility work (completing interior renovations of the intermediate building and installing a new HVAC system), including ADA renovations to the Community Center bathrooms, were received as follows: Vince Kelly Construction J. E. Novack Maestas Construction (minority owned) Muccigrosso Construction Eurostyle, Inc. Kalicek Construction Schuster Engineering M. Steele Enterprises (minority owned) Agbo Construction $197,890 $210,000 $211,000 $214,540 $226,700 $228,000 $233,330 $263,680 $335,280 Mr. Ollendorff said immediate approval would provide the needed time to order supplies for the ADA work scheduled for the week of August 11. Also, expediting the award of this contract will allow coor- dination of Phase II recreational facility renovations with completion of Phase I. It was recommended that the contract go to Vince Kelly Construction for their low bid of $197,890. They are also the con- tractors for Phase I of this project. Mr. Schoomer moved approval as recommended, and Mr. Lieberman seconded.
