SESSION 1672 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 15, 1996 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the City Council of University City was held in Room 6 of City Hall on Monday, <br />July 15, 1996, to consider bids for completion of Phase II work on the Heman Park recreation facility. <br />Notice of the meeting was posted on Friday, July 12, 1996. Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting <br />to order at 5:02 p.m. The following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel (arrived at 5:05 p.m.) <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mr. Lawrence Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmember Hardy Ware, who was excused. <br /> <br />Also present were City Manager Frank Ollendorff and Deputy City Manager Kimberley Trombly. <br /> <br />HEMAN PARK RECREATION FACILITY/PHASE II AND COMMUNITY CENTER ADA WORK <br /> <br />The City Manager said bids for Phase II of the recreation facility work (completing interior renovations <br />of the intermediate building and installing a new HVAC system), including ADA renovations to the <br />Community Center bathrooms, were received as follows: <br /> <br />Vince Kelly Construction <br />J. E. Novack <br />Maestas Construction (minority owned) <br />Muccigrosso Construction <br />Eurostyle, Inc. <br />Kalicek Construction <br />Schuster Engineering <br />M. Steele Enterprises (minority owned) <br />Agbo Construction <br /> <br />$197,890 <br />$210,000 <br />$211,000 <br />$214,540 <br />$226,700 <br />$228,000 <br />$233,330 <br />$263,680 <br />$335,280 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said immediate approval would provide the needed time to order supplies for the ADA <br />work scheduled for the week of August 11. Also, expediting the award of this contract will allow coor- <br />dination of Phase II recreational facility renovations with completion of Phase I. It was recommended <br />that the contract go to Vince Kelly Construction for their low bid of $197,890. They are also the con- <br />tractors for Phase I of this project. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval as recommended, and Mr. Lieberman seconded. <br /> <br /> <br />
