SESSION 1671 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 8, 1996 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber of City Hall on <br />Monday, July 8, 1996, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to <br />the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardy Ware <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mr. Lawrence Lieberman <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmembers Paul E. Schoomer and Betty L. Thompson, who were excused. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank OllendortT <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the June 24, 1996, minutes as submitted. Mr. Lieberman seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Mrs. Mary Schuman, recently appointed to the Municipal Commission on Arts and Letters, and Mr. John <br />Walsh, newly appointed to the City Plan Commission, were given the oath of office by the City Clerk. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams thanked the new members for their willingness to serve the City in this way, adding that <br />the Council depends greatly on recommendations that come from the boards and commissions. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR (ONE ITEM) <br /> <br />Recycling Vehicle (#1). Invitations to bid on a rear load recycling refuse vehicle for the Sanitation Divi- <br />sion, including trade-in on vehicle #43, were sent to six dealers, with the following response: <br /> <br />Downing Sales and Service <br />Key Equipment <br /> <br />Unit Trade-in Total <br />$145,840 ($9,500) $136,340 <br />$144,535 ($9,000) $135,535 <br /> <br />Acceptance of Key Equipment's low bid of $135,535 for this 1997 Crane Carrier was recommended. <br /> <br /> <br />
