Regular meeting August 29, 2005 The bill was given its first reading. The bill was given its second reading. The bill was given its third reading. Mr. Sharpe motioned for approval and Ms. Welsch seconded the motion. The Roll Call vote was as follows: AYES: Ms. Brot, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe, Ms. Colquitt, Ms. Brungardt, Mr. Wagner and Mayor Adams. Bill number 8812 passed and became Ordinance number 6579. BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION: Ms. Welsch introduced 1. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.62 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE POLICE AND FIREFIGHTER’S RETIREMENT SYSTEM, BY REPEALING SECTION 2.62.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF, A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS “SECTION 2.62.020 DEFINITIONS,“ THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO CHANGE THE DEFINITION OF “BASE SALARY.” The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8813 Ms. Brot introduced 2. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.64 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE NONUNIFORMED EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM, BY REPEALING SECTION 2.64.090 THEREOF, RELATING TO NORMAL SERVICE RETIREMENT, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS “SECTION 2.64.090 NORMAL SERVICE RETIREMENT,” THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE THE PENSION OF PARTICIPANTS WHO TERMINATED ON OR AFTER JANUARY 1, 2006. COMMENTS Ms. Colquitt just wanted to go on record of thanking the Police Department and Fire th Department for their excellent support and dedication.
