It was recom- mended that the City Council adopt the 1996-97 budget of $47,700 for the Loop Special Business District for the fiscal year starting July 1, and the 1995-96 Annual Report. Refuse Trailer (//4). Invitations to bid on a new refuse trailer (with trade-in) for hauling to the landfill were sent to five companies, with the following results: #48 Trade-in Company Unit Cost Allowance Total Downing Sales (# 1) $45,781 ($4, 500) $41,281 Downing Sales (#2) $41,441 ($4,500) $36,941 Armor Equipment $43,192 ($5,000) $38,192 (woman owned) Acceptance of Downing Sales (#2) low bid of $36,941 was recommended. Annual Order - Tires (#5). Invitations to bid on 1996-97 Central Garage requirements for tires were sent to 10 companies, with the following response: Dobbs Tire Purcell Tires (2 no bid) TriStar Tires Froesel Tires (1 no bid) $37,136.80 $37,114.00 $34,396.80 $33,633.28 There are no known minority bidders. It was recommended that the bid be split as follows: $18,353.00 to Froesel Tire; $6,657.80 to Dobbs Tire; and $5,594.10 to TriStar for a total of $30,604.90. Demolition Bids - Emergency Action (#6). The City Manager asked that Council confirm his decision to contract on an emergency basis with the low bidders to remove dangerous structures at 6510 Bartmer, 6628 Etzel, and 1338 Fairview. The cost will be billed to the properties and liens filed. Contracts were awarded to: Aalco Wrecking Co., Inc. Railroad Removal & Salvage, Inc. $ 3,980 $14,448 Skid Steer Loader and Breaker Attachment (#7). Invitations to bid on a skid steer loader with breaker attachment for the Street Department were sent to three companies, with the following results: Erb Equipment Gateway Bobcat Machinery, Inc.
