APPROVING A FINAL SUBDIVISION PLAT OF A TRACT OF <br />LAND TO BE KNOWN AS CONSOLIDATION PLAT OF LOTS 9 THROUGH 17 DAVID <br />L. REMLEY’S SUBDIVISION OF LOT 11 OF MT OLIVE AND LOCATED AT 7701 <br />OLIVE <br />This Bill was given its second reading <br />This Bill was given its third reading <br />Mr. Wagner motioned to approve and was seconded by Mr. Sharpe Jr. <br /> <br />The role call votes were as follows: Ayes: Ms. Colquitt, Ms. Brungardt, Ms. Brot, Ms. <br />Welsch, Mr. Sharpe Jr., Mayor Adams <br />. <br />Bill number 8821 was passed and became Ordinance number 6591. <br /> <br /> <br />2. BILL NUMBER 8822 - <br />BILL NO. 8822 - APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF 7579 – 7585 OLIVE BY THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff gave a brief introduction saying that this was a key parcel for the Olive <br />Redevelopment. U-City is acquiring it so we can be in control of its development. <br />Funds are coming from the TIF Commission so there is no direct impact on City’s <br />budget. Environmental report revealed that the corner of the property was possibly <br />used for a Dry Cleaner about 80 years ago. The soil exploration will cost between <br />$5,000 and $10,000. If the soil was found to be contaminated, this project could cost in <br />the thousands of dollars. Mr. Ollendorff was letting the City Council know of the <br />potential risk. Mr. Ollendorff still recommended it in order to obtain the objective of how <br />U-City has envisioned the Olive Street Redevelopment to unfold. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch and Mr. Sharpe Jr. asked about the possibility of having the site checked <br />out previous to the purchase. Mr. Ollendorff suggested that in Friday’s negotiation, he <br />would request a thirty day delay in closing in order to have the soil tested. With just a <br />delay in closing it will not be necessary to go back to the TIF Commission. Mr. <br />Ollendorff the purchase of the land in order to be able to move forward on the Council’s <br />objects for the redevelopment of Olive. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt motioned to negotiate a thirty day delay from the owner that would allow <br />University City time for site check out before purchase.
