AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING <br />GENERALLY, BY REPEALING SECTION 10.40.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO <br />STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACE— <br />EXCEPTIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE <br />KNOWN AS “SECTION 10.40.020 STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING <br />PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES—EXCEPTIONS,” THEREBY AMENDING <br />SAID SECTION SO AS TO PROHIBIT PARKING, STOPPING OR STANDING <br />ANY TIME ON BIG BEND BLVD., BOTH SIDES, FROM DELMAR BLVD. TO <br />FORSYTH BLVD. EXCEPT BY BUS STOPS AND TO PROHIBIT PARKING, <br />STOPPING OR STANDING ANY TIME ON FOREST PARK PKWY., BOTH <br />SIDES, FROM THE CITY LIMITS WITH CLAYTON CITY TO THE CITY LIMITS <br />OF St. LOUIS CITY EXCEPT BY BUS STOPS; CONTAINING A SAVING <br />CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8826. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff stated that this is a bill among many that will be coming with the advent of <br />MetroLink. This bill is to free up the residential streets from unwanted traffic, from <br />delaying traffic and from unwanted parking. <br /> <br />That concluded the Legislative Docket. <br /> <br /> <br />Comments: <br />In regards to the MetroLink Station, Ms. Welsch was concerned that the surrounding <br />neighborhoods were going to feel the influx of people who would be dropping off people <br />to go to the Big Bend Station by going down Pershing and WestMoreland. She wished <br />we had worked with Metro to build-in appropriate curb-cuts, where people could come in <br />and drop off riders for MetroLink because they will be coming to our station and right <br />now they have made no plans for this. <br /> <br />On another subject, Ms. Welsch wanted to asked Mr. Senturia that since he mentioned <br />that he does this sort of thing for a living, she would be interested in knowing his <br />thoughts on how to involved citizens in the process since the Council has already done <br />a lot of the preliminary work. Mr. Senturia agreed to send his thoughts in writing and <br />Ms. Welsch would distribute this to the rest of the Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt raised a question on the legal bills acquired in the writing of a Retirement <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />
