<br /> <br />MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />October 26, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held in the Chambers of the City Hall, <br />on Monday, October 26, 2009, Mayor Joseph Adams called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In <br />addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also in attendance were City Manager Julie Feier and City Attorney John Mulligan. <br /> <br />C. PROCLAMATION <br />1. <br />Sergeant Michael King and other fallen uniform personnel were honored with a <br />proclamation from the City Council. Mr. Glickert introduced the proclamation and Council <br />approved unanimously. <br /> <br />D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. October 12, 2009, Study Session minutes as amended were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Sharpe, and were approved unanimously. <br />2. October 12, 2009, Regular Session minutes as amended were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Wagner and were approved unanimously. <br />3. October 19, 2009, Study Session minutes as amended were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Sharpe and were approved unanimously. <br /> <br />E. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. <br />Deborah Arbogast was nominated by Ms. Ricci to the Library Board, seconded by Mr. <br />Wagner and was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />F. SWEARING IN <br />1. <br />Lisa Frumhoff was sworn in to the Historic Preservation Commission <br /> <br />G. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />The Pubic Hearing on the rezoning of 547 and 551 North and South Rd. from LR, Limited <br />Residential to LC, Limited Commercial was opened at 6:45 p.m. <br /> <br />John Nations, 211 North Broadway <br />Mr. Nations, a lawyer with Armstrong Teasdale, said he and Dewey’s Regional Manager David <br />Justice were present to explain their project of an additional parking lot for Dewey’s Pizza and <br />to answer any questions. He noted that their plan was consistent with the Comprehensive Plan <br />Update of 2005. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert asked if they were cordial to sharing this lot with surrounding businesses. Mr. <br />Nations noted that Starbucks is presently using their lot in the morning and has not interfered <br />with Dewey’s operating hours at present. He noted that this dedicated lot for Dewey’s parking <br />will free up spaces in the original lot for the rest of the building’s tennants. <br /> <br /> <br />
