<br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />JANUARY 30,2006 <br /> <br />At a Regular Meeting of the City Council of University City held in the auditorium of the <br />City Library on Monday, January 30, 2006. Mayor Joseph Adams called the meeting to <br />order at 6:40 p.m. In addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of <br />Councilmembers were present: <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br />Ms. Francine Brungardt <br />Ms. Stefany Brot <br />Ms. Shelley Welsch <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> <br />Also present were the City Manager, Frank Ollendorff and Assistant City Manager, <br />Thomas Moton. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS: <br /> <br />PROCLAMATIONS: <br /> <br />1. Anthony West, dealing with returning artist series. <br />Introduced by Ms. Welsch. She stated that Mr. West was a long time friend of hers <br />and would be honored to introduce this proclamation. Mr. Sharpe Jr. also said he <br />would like to co-sponsor this as Anthony West grew up down the street from where <br />he lives. It was unanimously accepted with voice votes of all AYES. <br /> <br />2. City Platform for strengthening families and improving outcomes for children and <br />youth. Ms. Colquitt introduced the proclamation. It was unanimously accepted <br />with voice votes of all AYES. <br /> <br />RECOGNITIONS: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams and Council recognized a group of citizens who have spent several years <br />studying, researching & surveying the recreational needs of University City residents. <br />Their work resulted in passage of a Bond issue to fund the redevelopment of the Heman <br />Park Pool and the development of our new Centennial Commons recreational center. <br />The Prop K committee listened to inputs, made recommendations, worked with the <br />
