Regular meeting
March 06, 2006

Jo-Ann Jackson, 7335 Marilyn
Ms. Jackson would like to request the dog store behind her property, put up a fence, as
she is tired of picking up the trash that blows out of their open dumpster. She also said
that someone is parking a large dumpster there during the day but is gone at night. Her
view out her window is three dumpsters and the large truck.

Steven Glickert, 7750 Blackberry
Mr. Glickert handed City Clerk a petition from citizens of University City neighborhood.
The petition requested lowering the speed limit on Blackberry Ave. He stated that the
street is narrow and parked vehicles have been side swiped. Police informed him that
they do not write out tickets unless vehicle travels five miles over the speed limit. Mr.
Glickert said, therefore the speed limit would then be 35 miles per hour and there are
many small children living in the area.

Ms. Welsch said that this will go to the traffic Commission but along with this, she is
requesting there should be stripping of Blackberry on both sides, as was done on
Delmar.

Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave.
Mr. Dockett said that when citizens have a working relationship with a business entering
University City, revenue for the City increases.

Ralph Bowser, 8050 Teasdale Ave.
Mr. Bowser wanted to voice his complaint against the changing of his region’s polling
place for the election. He felt that this is very confusing and felt the City should look into
it. Ms. Brot suggested that Mr. Ollendorff do as Mr. Moton did a few years ago and
arranged for a van to pick up senior citizens and take them to their polling place.

Mayor Adams moved to the Legislative Docket.

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING:

BILL NO. 8835 —
1. AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, BY REPEALING
SECTION 34-104.2(5) THEREOF RELATING TO SIGNS IN CONNECTION WITH
POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS, OTHER CIVIC NONCOMMERCIAL CAMPAIGNS, OR
OTHER NONCOMMERCIAL MESSAGES, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A
NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-104.2(5)" BY AMENDING SAID
SECTION SO AS TO CHANGE REQUIREMENTS FOR SIGN SIZE AND
DURATION CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
TABLED
Page 8
