Regular meeting <br />March 20, 2006 <br /> <br />She moved that there should not be any more legal action on the part of City concerning <br />Ames Place vs. Metro, without approval first by the Council. Ms. Brot’s motion was <br />seconded by Ms. Welsch. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #6 — Site Plan for 6416 Cates Garden Apartment Building <br />City Manager recommended approval of construction of a four-story, four unit garden <br />apartment building, with intention to subdivide into condominiums. All zoning ordinance <br />standards had been met. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved for approval and was seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. The motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #7 — Picnic Alcoholic Beverage License – 6625 Delmar <br />Qdoba Mexican Grill requests a license to sell margaritas and beer in the parking lot at <br />the rear of their restaurant from 3:30 – 8:00 p.m. on May 5, 2006. Approval was <br />recommended. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner motioned for approval and was seconded by Ms. Brot. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #8 — Clemens Garden and Clemens/Limit City Park <br />Motion to add this to the agenda was made by Ms. Brungardt and seconded by Mr. <br />Sharpe, Jr. It was passed unanimously. Ms. Brungardt and Mr. Wagner requested this <br />addition to obtain an update of Clemens Garden and the status of the selling vest- <br />pocket park. <br /> <br />Ms. Brungardt had received calls from people asking if they could speak to the Council <br />on what the Clemens’ Garden means to their community: and this is why she decided to <br />add it to the agenda. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said that if this is the solution to get us out of the illegal sale of a park, he <br />had hoped the City Manager would find other options to bring before the City Council. <br /> <br />CITIZENS COMMENTS: <br /> <br />Michael Donovan, 837 Westgate Ave <br />Mr. and Mrs. Donovan had first been a renter in this area of University City and had <br />found this community through gardening. Based on this happy situationthey bought <br />their first home in this section of University City. He and his wife are proud to say that <br />they were the first to purchase one of Highland Homes’ new condo development. Mr. <br />Donovan said that the garden is more than growing flowers, it is growing a community. <br />We meet every month, even in the winter.
