Regular meeting
April 17, 2006

CITIZENS’ COMMENTS

Joan Botwinick, 511 Westview
Ms. Botwinick wanted to address to the Council, the hazardous conditions at 558, 564
and 568 Mapleview with holes three to four feet deep and much debris in the front
yards. This condition has been in existence for several months. Ms. Botwinick
explained that all three addresses are owned by resident in the center. The other two
homes have been vacant for more than a year and one is much deteriorated. Mr.
Lehman informed her that he did not have enough authority under present ordinances
to mitigate the unpleasant situation. Ms. Botwinick quoted from an ordinance on
Emergency Measures, Section 109.2 and Section 301.3. She would like to know
whether a new ordinance is needed beyond the two she just mentioned and how soon
can one be enacted.

Joe Corrigan, 569 Mapleview Dr.
Mr. Corrigan added that there has not been any construction work at 558, 564 or 568
Mapleview drive in the last six to nine weeks. He wanted to know if there could be an
ordinance that could alleviate this from happening.

Ms. Brot said that she would look into creating an ordinance.

Mayor Adams moved to the Legislative Docket.

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING:

BILL NO. 8835 —
1. AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, BY REPEALING
SECTION 34-104.2(5) THEREOF RELATING TO SIGNS IN CONNECTION WITH
POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS, OTHER CIVIC NONCOMMERCIAL CAMPAIGNS, OR
OTHER NONCOMMERCIAL MESSAGES, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A
NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-104.2(5)" BY AMENDING SAID
SECTION SO AS TO CHANGE REQUIREMENTS FOR SIGN SIZE, DURATION
AND ENFORCEMENT; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A
PENALTY.
Remained TABLED

BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION:

This bill was introduced by Mr. Price
1. BILL NO. 8865 — AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A ROAD
DEDICATION PLAT FROM UNIVERSITY PARK NO. 2 SUBDIVISION.
Page 5
