AGENDA NO. 9 - RECREATIONAL FEES CHARGED BUSINESS OWNERS: <br /> <br />The sense of Council was to extend resident privileges to business owners and not to their <br />immediate family members. <br /> <br />AGENDA NO. 10 - REPORT ON BEER SALES AT SUMMER CONCERT SERIES: <br /> <br />The sense of Council was to allow City staff and the Arts and Letters Commission to continue <br />for another two years with selling alcohol at the summer concert series. The next few years will <br />include wine and possible participation of University City restaurants. <br /> <br />AGENDA NO. 11 - CITY TOUR: <br /> <br />Mr. Rose suggested that Councilmembers forward to him a list of areas of the City that they <br />would be interested in touring. This tour would probably take place on a Saturday moming <br />followed by lunch. <br /> <br />AGENDA NO. I2 - REVIEW POLICY ON BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: <br /> <br />It was the sense of the Council to continue with boards/commission members serving up to two <br />terms maximum. Library Board members would be allowed to serve for three terms and the <br />Civil Service Board would have no term limits and reappointments would be unnecessary. A <br />statement is to be added to the application, prior to the signature line, that would state that three <br />unexcused absences would be basis for removal fi'om the board/commission. City <br />Councilmembers would be allowed sixty days in which to make an appointment/reappointment, <br />after which the Mayor or City Clerk will prepare a written warning. After another month, the <br />appointment/reappointment will automatically rotate to the next Councilmember. City Clerk <br />Meine was directed to prepare new policy for review and adoption. <br /> <br />AGENDA NO. 13 - LATERAL BREAKAGE iNSURANCE: <br /> <br />The sense of Council was that a mandatory sewer tax may be beneficial to residents. It would <br />have to go to the voters in April 2000. A study was suggested prior to the ballot item. <br /> <br />AGENDA NO. 14 - RESALE VALUE INSURANCE: <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer explained the premise of voluntary resale value insurance to protect homeowners <br />from losing money on the sales of their homes. Mr. Rose and Mr. Ollendorffwill watch the <br />legislature for anything further dealing with this subject. <br /> <br />AGENDA NO. 15 - WEB SITE DEMONSTRATION: <br /> <br />Councilmembers were given a demonstration of the new City Web Site by Ms. Meine. The site <br />will be launched no later than the second week in October and will cost approximately $1,000 <br /> <br /> <br />
