SESSION 1711 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 24, 1997 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council <br />Chamber of City Hall on Monday, November 24, 1997, Mayor Joseph L. Adams <br />called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following <br />members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardy Ware <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was Acting City Manager AI Goldman, who filled in for Mr. Frank <br />Ollendorff, who was out of town. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes of October 25, 1997. Mr. Sharpe <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes of November 3, 1997. Mr. Schoomer <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REAPPOINTMENTS: <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman moved the reappointments of Jo Seltzer and Barbara Ann Romero to <br />the Arts and Letters Commission. Both have been enthusiastic commissioners and <br />have agreed to serve another term. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />RETIREMENT - AL GOLDMAN: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that Mr. AI Goldman, the City's Planning Director, would <br />be filling in for vacationing City Manager Frank Ollendorff. On a happy and sad <br />note, Mr. Goldman is retiring from his long career with the City. Mayor Adams said <br />that with deep regret, but fondness, this will be the last official Council Meeting for AI <br />Goldman, a good member of the University City family. He wished to thank him for <br />all of his dedication and thirty-one years of service. Mr. Goldman has helped make <br /> <br /> <br />
