Session 171 I, Minutes
November 24, 1997

the City what it is today. He has given his heart and soul and tremendous amounts
of integrity to make this a great city.

Mr. Wagner said that in the years he has worked on the Council, he has worked
closely with Mr, Goldman and has become used to seeing him in the back of the
chambers. He said that Mr. Goldman had been a complete gentleman and that he
had carried out his job with competence, grace and good humor. He will be greatly
missed.

2

Mr. Schoomer said that he did not know how much the public really understood just
how much of a mark Mr. Goldman had made on this City, not just as a zoning officer
or Director of Planning, but also as a past president of the Building Officials
organization. This group annually writes the building codes for the entire country.
The United States would not nearly look as good as it does now without AI Goldman.

Mr. Ware said that he was a new member on the Council, but he had enjoyed
working with Mr. Goldman on different projects. He will be missed.

Mr. Goldman thanked Council for their kind words and told the Mayor that he could
bug him as a private citizen instead of as an employee anytime.

CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS:

CONSENT CALENDAR (8 ITEMS):

# I - Recreation Facility Improvement Purchases: The City Manager
recommends purchasing white inlay stripes for the soccer turf and new plexiglass
around the perimeter of the soccer field as follows:

Frazier-Davis Construction Co.
- Indoor soccer surface inlay
lines

Kristaplex Arenas - Acrylic
sheets & aluminum framework

$7,500.00

$10,138.00

In both cases, these are the sole suppliers of the products needed to match our
existing systems.
