Session 171 I, Minutes
November 24, 1997

13

Ms. Glickert also wanted to discuss a rumor that she was hearing about selling beer
& wine at the band concerts. She believes this is very poor planning. She believes
that this will attract many questionable types of people to the band concerts,
although her opinion is that the music is not top quality and therefore does not help
in attracting quality audiences in itself. She also believes this practice would be
unfair to people that have liquor licenses along Olive Street Rd. This would lower
our standards considerable by even considering it.

Mayor Adams directed the City Manager to confer with the Traffic Commission
regarding Ms. Glickert's traffic problem regarding tractor trailer traffic on Etzel.

Mr. Lieberman said that a new ordinance would be passed tonight that would put up
"no thru traffic" signs at Arcadia and that right now there are signs that say "no thru
trucks". He did not know if this was being enforced or not. If not, it needs enforcing.
The new signs would go at each end of Arcadia.

CiTY CLERK'$ DOCKET:

BILL FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING:

BILL NO. 8356 - AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE , RELATING
TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-174.3 THEREOF,
RELATING TO THROUGH TRAFFIC PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS DURING
DESIGNATED HOURS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE
KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-174.3.
