SESSION 1731 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />AUGUST 31, 1998 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber <br />of City Hall on Monday, August 31, 1998, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to <br />order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquirt <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />EXCUSED ABSENCE: Mr. Robert Wagner. Also present was City Manager Frank <br />Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the minutes for the regular meeting of August 17, 1998. <br />Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REAPPOINTMENTS: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams moved the reappointment of Mr. Stephen Marsh, 7110 Cornell, and Mr. <br />Willie Norfleet, 7430 Lynn, to the Tax Increment Financing Commission for four year <br />terms ending August 19, 2002. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: (5 Items): <br /> <br />#1 - Charitable Solicitation - Ofive Street Road Private Property: Mr. Ollendorff <br />recommends approval for the University City Firefighters to conduct their Muscular <br />Dystrophy Association "Fill the Boot" solicitations at Grandpa's and Schnucks (8020 <br />Olive and 6920 Olive) from September 5 - 7, 1998 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. The <br />request meets all City ordinance requirements. <br /> <br />#2 - Pavinc~ Contract Addition: Mr. Ollendorff requests permission to add $15,000 to the <br />paving contract awarded to Krupp Construction Co. earlier this summer.
