To: Honorable Mayor Adams and Council
From: Julie Feier, City Manager
Date: January 29, 2010
Subject: Weekly Update
The February 1, 6:30 PM public meeting in the Council Chambers marks the start of the
comment
next fiscal year budget cycle. The public is encouraged to attend and share
following presentations by the fleet consultant on the City’s equipment and
budget projections
from Deputy City Manager Janet Watson.
On February 8 at 5:30 PM, there will be a City Council Study Session regarding the
Parkview Gardens Park Plan
. This presentation is the product of a yearlong public
process to enhance underutilized parks in the neighborhood and transform them into
focus points for neighborhood revitalization. The final plan will be available late next
week at http://www.ucitymo.org/index.aspx?nid=75. John Hoal with H3 conducted the
final round of public comment and developed the plan with the assistance of a volunteer
Advisory Committee. Much thanks to all of the volunteers and staff associated with
developing a vision for the parks. In addition, much thanks to Parkview Gardens and
Washington University for funding the planning process.
America In Bloom (AIB)
The purpose of the organization is to provide a springboard
. For
more information, call Dick Shaw, 727-3587 or Judy Prange, 721-7401 and visit the
website at www.americainbloom.org.
The Proposition P Educational Brochure Committee
had their first meeting this
week. We reviewed questions posed by residents recently and developed the initial list
of questions and answers attached here for council consideration. This will be a much
shorter time line than available for Proposition S (attached for your reference) wherein
Council reviewed the brochure information over a course of three months so your quick
review and feedback to Council Member Sharpe or myself will be critical.
