There are seven members, all of whom are appointed <br />by the Mayor with the concurrence of the City Council. The term of office is six years. <br />The group meets when there is business. <br />beautiful City calendar <br />The Arts and Letters Commission developed another this year. <br />The Calendars were distributed by the postal service before Thanksgiving. Any <br />residents not receiving a copy of the calendar should contact Deanna Townson at 505- <br />8531 or dtownson@ucitymo.org to request a copy be mailed to their home address. <br />United States Census data directly affects how federal and state funding and tax <br />dollars are allocated to the City of University City. <br /> This funding helps pay for <br />improvements and basic services. Up-to-date and accurate population data is critical to <br />ensure that University City receives its appropriate share of funding. The Census will <br />all <br />mail the questionnaires in March. It is important that people staying in University <br />City at the time of the Census are counted. <br />Questionnaire Assistance Center <br />To help meet that goal, the City will host a (QAC) <br />April 5 - April 9 <br />on the fourth floor of City Hall, 6801 Delmar Boulevard from . The QAC <br />will be staffed by the U.S. Census Bureau and will provide residents with assistance in <br />completing the Census form. The City is also available to speak about the Census, <br />provide literature, and other assistance. If you do not want to throw your old <br />incandescent lights in the trash, send them to HolidayLEDs.com, Attn: Recycling <br />Program, 118 Rosehill Dr., Suite 1, Jackson, MI 49202, and they will recycle them for <br />you and send you a coupon for 15% off anything on their website.The recycling <br />program is now openthroughthe end of February.When they receive your lights for <br />recycling, they will remove them from the package and recycle the box. The lights will <br />be processed and any material that cannot be recycled (i.e. loose bulbs) is discarded. <br />Once they have collected a substantial number of sets they take them to a 3rd party <br />recycling facility located in Jackson, MI. The recycling company puts the lights through a <br />commercial shredder, which chops the lights up into little pieces. The pieces are then <br />further processed and sorted into the various components that make up the lights (pvc, <br />glass, copper.) The materials are separated and transported to a region center for <br /> <br />
