City Manager to provide some information on the City calendars as there seems to be some
confusion and conflicting information and there are some that believe they did not receive a
calendar due to budget cuts. Lastly Mr. Glickert said the new Parks and Rec brochure on the
back has a listing of a number of clubs. He noted that the Parks department needs to be
informed that the Alumni Association is not in there and maybe they could get their name in it
the next time with a phone number and some contact number.
Mr. Wagner commended the Public Works for negotiating with Ameren and their subcontractor
to repair the cobra head street lights in the Loop which were carelessly damaged by the hole
boring operation. The repair will be done at no cost to the City saving some $60,000.
Secondly to congratulate U City In Bloom for their citation award from the Missouri Parks and
Recreation Association. They have over two hundred gardens in U City that they care for.
Lastly AT&T by a class action suit against their unfortunate practice of passing through to
customers their 65 million dollar settlement.
Mr. Sharpe mentioned again the free income tax preparation places and tonight he had a
additional sheet that gave of list of everything that a person would need to bring to the preparer.
He said anyone could get this information from the City Clerk or himself. He mentioned a Cap
and Gown event for communities with colleges was having a conference and he would get the
information to the City Manager for anyone interested in attending.
Ms. Ricci asked that her comments given to the City Clerk become part of the record. She
asked that the budget transfer authority be put on the next agenda. On the issues of budget
transfers she has still not received a legal opinion which was requested over three months ago.
She felt this to be a very critical question and has asked Ms. Feier to get her this legal opinion.
Ms. Feier stated that Mr. Mulligan was to follow up with her directly, as she thought it already
had happened. Ms. Ricci stated it was very critical. Next she asked since the last fleet
presentation there is a new fleet manager and asked what happened to the old one and is the
Council going to meet the new one. She asked if the new fleet manager was familiar with
update that was just provided to Council. Ms. Ricci felt the Council needs to re-discuss having
a newsletter to be sent to the citizens. She doesn’t feel enough information is going to the
citizens; some people use the web-site and have access to it; the City Manager’s report some
people use and felt a periodical newsletter would be very valuable to let people know what is
going on in our city would be very valuable.
Meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m. Mr. Price moved to go into Executive Session for RSMO
610.021 (1) Legal and (2) Real Estate and was seconded by Mr. Wagner.
Roll Call Vote was
AYES: Mr. Price, Ms. Ricci, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Crow, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharp and Mayor Adams
Joyce Pumm
CityClerk
19
