Regular Session <br />June 5, 2006 <br /> <br />BILL 8882 <br /> — AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.04 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />10. <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO ANIMALS GENERALLY, BY REPEALING SECTION <br />6.04.025 THEREOF, RELATING TO CHICKENS –PERMIT REQUIRED; CONTAINING A <br />SAVINGS CLAUSE. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner motioned for an amendment stating “to retain the ordinance with a moratorium on new <br />permits for a period of one year”. Mr. Wagner asked this so as not to cause a hardship on the two <br />permitted residents that had complied with the strict regulations that the amendment imposed. Ms. <br />Brot seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Price brought up what he had heard that a licensed resident was selling the eggs produced. <br /> <br />The voice vote on the amendments was passed with NAYS from Mr. Sharpe Jr, Mr. Price and Mayor <br />Adams. <br /> <br />Because this amendment was considered substantive, it will have to wait a week for the second and <br />third reading for approval. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams motioned for an amendment stating that the residents with permits will not be allowed <br />to sell the eggs that are produced nor the chickens. The motion was seconded by Mr. Glickert. <br /> <br />Bill 8882 will be held over till the next Council meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />BILL 8883 <br /> — AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND SURRENDERING TWELVE FEET WIDE <br />11. <br />EAST/WEST PUBLIC ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED WITHIN BLOCK 2 OF THE <br />RICHARDSON’S WASHINGTON PARK SUBDIVISION SOUTH OF THE 7500 BLOCK OF <br />AHERN AVE. AND NORTH OF THE 7500 BLOCK OF DREXELL AVE. RESERVING ANY <br />PUBLIC EASEMENTS, AND DIRECTING THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE RECORDED IN THE <br /> <br />OFFICE OF THE RECORDER OF DEEDS OF ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MISSOURI <br /> <br />Ms. Brungardt moved for adoption and was seconded by Ms. Brot. <br /> <br />Polling of Council <br />AYES: Mr. Sharpe, Jr., Mr. Price, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Wagner, Ms. Brungardt, Ms. Brot, and <br />Mayor Adams <br />NAYS: None <br /> <br /> <br />BILL 8884 <br /> — AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY <br />12. <br />OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR OWN <br />AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY, REPEALING <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6586. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved for adoption and was seconded by Mr. Price. <br /> <br />Polling of Council <br />AYES: Mr. Price, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Wagner, Ms. Brungardt, Ms. Brot, Mr. Sharpe, Jr., and <br />Mayor Adams <br />NAYS: None <br /> <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />
