Regular Session <br />June 5, 2006 <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS: <br />Deb Carlin, 7132 Washington <br />Ms. Carlin has asked several times for the City to stake property lines before the City approves the <br />vacation. She felt this property has been used for a walkway and is a scenic green view. She asked <br />the City to reconsider before giving away 30 feet of real estate. <br /> <br />Robert Jones, 7700 Bonhomme, 63105 <br />Mr. Jones is the attorney representing the home owner adjacent to vacation property. Mr. Jones <br />stated that the First Presbyterian Church was previously awarded the 30 feet adjacent to their <br />property. This would just continue this 30 feet to the rest of the adjacent property owners. <br /> <br />Public Hearing was closed at 7:18 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #3 — Public Hearing on Vacating Ahern – Drexel Alley <br />A public hearing for the proposed vacating of the unimproved unopened alley at the rear of houses <br />between the 7500 blocks of Ahern and Drexel. This vacating would add 7.25 feet to the rear of each <br />adjoining property <br /> <br />Public Hearing was opened at 7:20 p.m. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS: <br />There were no speakers present. <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #4 — Site Plan 8310 Olive <br />It was recommended to approve a not-for-profit use of this property as a Place of Worship; all <br />requirements were met. Mr. Price moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr., and approved <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #5 — Adoption of Comprehensive Plan Update of 2005. The Comprehensive Plan is <br />updated every five years. The plan’s primary purpose is to guide economic development. Mr. <br />Ollendorff concurred with the Plan Commission for adoption of the Comprehensive Plan Update of <br />2005, as revised January 25, 2006. This plan included most of the City Council’s requested <br />revisions. Mr. Ollendorff said that implementation has already begun and will accelerate if <br />Proposition U meets with voter approval. There are three additional requested revisions that are <br />being studied by the Plan Commission; <br /> Change in the language of the previously passed provision by the Plan Commission making <br />the 8600 block of West Kingsbury single family home No farther institutional development on this <br />block. <br /> <br />1. A revision in the plan for the Hafner Court area. <br />2. Recommended usage of the property of the former offices for the U City school board. Mr. <br />Price moved for approval and was seconded by Ms. Brot for purpose of discussion. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot said the Council had worked very hard reviewing this proposed Comprehensive Plan. She <br />passed out Table 18 of the Comprehensive Plan, Line 18 across; this indicated the preferred uses <br />which the Plan Commission had already approved for the 8600 block of West Kingsbury: and low- <br />density residential, no institutional use, and two-family dwellings.
