SESSION 1732 <br /> <br /> MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> SEPTEMBER 28, 1998 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber <br />of City Hall on Monday, September 28, 1998, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the <br />meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the <br />Council were present: <br /> <br /> Ms. Cassandra Cotquitt <br /> Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Larry Lieberman <br /> Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank OIlendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the minutes for the regular meeting of August 31, 1998. <br />Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes for the study session of September 19, <br />1998. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS: <br /> <br />#1 - ESTABLISHING LOOP ARTS DISTRICT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams read a resolution establishing the Loops Art District. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieherman asked that the representatives of the Loops Art District introduce <br />themselves. <br /> <br />Sharon McPherron, Executive Director of Craft Alliance, gave Council and the audience <br />a preview of the Arts District logo, which will be displayed at the upcoming Loop in <br />Motion event coming up the second weekend in October. Ms. McPherron introduced <br />Nancy Goldstein, Public Relations; Steve Givens, Chancellor's office of Washington <br />University; Shirley Bartsen, V.P. for Education ~ St. Louis Symphony Society; and <br /> <br /> <br />
