St. Louis Composting has
been contracted to bring operators and equipment to our leaf cornposting site next to
Ruth Park for an amount not to exceed $25,000 to complete the composting of prior
years' leaves by the end of this month. Due to a variety of equipment and weather
related problems we find ourselves with very large quantities of uncomposted leaves at
the site which is needed for this year's accumulation beginning in mid-October. We
have explored several alternatives and found this approach to the best and least
expensive. St. Louis Cornposting will bring their equipment to our site, thus saving very
high transportation costs. This company has a contract with St. Louis County whereby
funds are available to cover pad of this cost. The price is fair and they promise
completion on a timely basis.
