Is there any idea of when it may be approved?
FEMA Region VII received the plan from the State on December 18, 2009.
FEMA Region VII provided comments back to the State on January 5, 2010.
The plan was not approved as it did not address required elements for approval,
including:
The plan must identify hazards for EACH participating jurisdiction.
The plan must include an overview of each jurisdiction’s vulnerability for each
identified hazard, which includes a general description of types of structures and
special populations vulnerable to the hazard. (e.g. the types and numbers of
existing buildings, infrastructure, critical facilities located in each jurisdiction’s
identified hazard area).
The plan must identify changes that have occurred from the previously approved
plan (since 2004), particularly in the built environment and populations –for
EACH jurisdiction
FEMA and the State met with the East-West Gateway on January 21, 2010, to
provide clarification and recommendations to help address the required revisions.
East-West Gateway indicated that they would have the required revisions
finished by the second week of February.
You are invited to attend a FREE audio/web conference training session entitled
Redevelopment and Revitalization for a New Era,
to be held March 17, 2010 from
3:00 – 4:30 PM at the City of Chesterfield City Hall. The program will focus on redevelopment financing such as
TIF, special district financing, joint development financing, and how the tools work in this
economic climate.
