The attached University City GIS Strategic Implementation Plan provides
a phased approach to moving the City forward. We hope to bring on an intern to assist
with the administrative work associated with the program. Each department is handling
its own data collection. This report represents the achievement of another technology
goal for the City. Next is the implementation. Thanks Director Leisha Meine and all of
the staff for their participation on the report.
In December 2009, Interim Community Development Director Riganti filed an appeal to
the Census Bureau's Local Update of Census Addresses ~LUCA~ program. The
LUCA program provides an opportunity for local governments to review for accuracy
and completeness the address list used to take the census. Because of her work, all of
the 139 addresses we submitted for appeal were approved and reinstated.
The Honorable Joseph L. He has also served
as a member of the Board of Directories of the National League of Cities as well as
serving appointments of three Governors. In 2006, he was the second recipient of the
Buzz Westfall Award, named for the former County Executive of St. Louis. This week he
was reappointed by Governor Nixon to serve the State Historical Records Advisory
Board. Now, he retires after over 30 years of service to the residents of University City.
Please join us in celebrating his public service with a reception in the City Hall
rotunda on Saturday, flay 22 at fi PSI.
As of this week, all meters in The Loop, on Forsyth and N & S to Gannon are ADA
compliant shave been cut to height and straightened.
