According to a recently released study by the University of
Washington, “nearly one-third of Americans age 14 or older - roughly 77 million people -
used a public library computer or wireless network to access the Internet in the past
year….In 2009, as the nation struggled through a recession, people relied on library
technology to find work, apply for college, secure government benefits, learn about
critical medical treatments, and connect with their communities.” For many of our
residents, our library is their only access to a computer and/or broadband access.
Upcoming Meetings:
Friday, May 14 5:30 PM Goal Setting Session, Green Center
Saturday, May 15 9:30 AM Goal Setting Session, Green Center
Monday, May 17 5:30 PM Study Session
th
Monday, May 17 6:30 PM City Council Meeting in Council Chambers, 5 floor
Monday, May 24 6:30 PM Budget Study Session (EOC room City Hall)
Monday, June 7 6:30 PM City Council Meeting at Heman Park Community Center
th
Monday, June 21 6:30 PM City Council Meeting in Council Chambers, 5 floor
Attachments:
Public Works Week-In-Review
City Auction Flyer
Invitation to Reception for Joseph Adams
Council attachments are available upon request by contacting Deanna Townson at
505-8531 or dtownson@ucitymo.org
