Session 1734, Minutes <br />November 2, 1998 <br /> <br />Mayor Adams thanked Ms. Alston and Ms. Geibel and noted that the work of the City's <br />boards and commissions greatly helped the City to function well. <br /> <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION - HISTORIC SIGNIFICANT SITE MAP: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams introduced Mr. Paul Marsh, Chairman of the Historic Preservation <br />Commission to the audience. Mr. Marsh handed out to Council a copy of the <br />commission's new map booklet denoting significant historical sites in University City. <br />Mr. Marsh reported that recent grant work resulted in an official designation of Maryland <br />Terrace as an official historic district. Mr. Marsh said that the maps are available on the <br />GIS mapping system. The map project was also a result of a grant. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR (2 ITEMS) <br /> <br />#1 - Tree and Fence Removal Between Kaufman Park and Blackberry Property Line: <br />Bids for tree and fence removal have been received. Bids were sent to five companies <br />with the following results: <br /> <br />Ray's Tree Service ...................................$19,750.00 <br />Busken Construction ................................$12,000.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends the award to Busken Construction for their low bid of <br />$12,000.00. <br /> <br />#2 - John Deere Four Wheel Drive Out Front Mower.' Invitations to Bid were sent to five <br />vendors for subject mower for the Park Maintenance Department. $18,000 was set <br />aside for this purchase.
