<br /> <br /> <br /> (CITY COUNCIL RETREAT REPORT) <br /> <br /> <br /> Day Two <br /> <br /> At the beginning of the second day, Council reflected upon the first day and <br /> noted the following items that could have been better: <br /> <br /> What went well? What could have been better? <br /> • Pleased with the progress • Two groups wrote policy statements <br /> • Good first start differently <br /> • Flow/tempo was good • Struggle with livable/sustainable <br /> • Didn't get caught up in "stuff' <br /> • Covered lots of territory in a short <br /> time <br /> • Liked working in groups and <br /> reporting back <br /> <br /> <br /> In preparation for the day's discussions, each person was asked to write a <br /> headline for the mythical "UCity Times Newspaper" dated April 30, 2012: <br /> <br /> • UCity on the Move! <br /> o UCity has sold five Green Homes in the 3rd Ward <br /> o The City has developed lots at Kingland (North & South) <br /> o UCity and Olivette have completed their plans <br /> <br /> • FEMA has funded the relocation of River Des Peres!!!! <br /> <br /> • Council and Residents Work Together to Make Tough Decisions <br /> <br /> • School Accreditation Rises to 14 Thanks to Community, City and School <br /> Collaboration <br /> <br /> • Daddy Warbucks to Develop Old Value City Site! Mother Peacepenny <br /> Completing Development and Construction at Olive & 1-170 <br /> <br /> • UCity Council Passes Balanced Budget - No Service Cuts and Money for <br /> 10 Additional Police Officers <br /> <br /> • Come Join UCity to Experience its Beauty in Architecture, Uniqueness & <br /> Diversity <br /> <br /> • University City breaks ground on 50 Acre Mixed-Use Development at 1- <br /> 170 and Delmar <br /> 0 400 Condos and Apartments Being Built <br /> o Office Park will Provide 100,000 Square Feet of Office Space <br /> o Trader Joe's Will Anchor Commercial Development <br /> <br /> 71 Page <br />
