MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR SESSION <br />July 26, 2010 <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held in the EOC Room of the City Hall, <br />due to lack of elevator service, on Monday, July 26, 2010, Mayor Pro-tem Arthur Sharpe, Jr. called <br />the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In addition to Mayor Pro-tem Sharpe, the following members of <br />the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price, <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Stephen Kraft <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br />Mayor Welsch was excused. <br />Also in attendance was Interim City Manager Janet Watson. <br />Mayor Pro-tem Sharpe noted at the beginning of the meeting that a memo was received from <br />Ms. MacCartney detailing the significant recruitment for lifeguards that her staff had. He noted <br />that because of these recruitments the pool will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays through <br />Labor Day and will remain fully opened on the weekends. <br />C. PROCLAMATION <br />1. <br />Proclamation from Council to Bert Sterbenz, founder of U City Dog Park was introduced and <br />read by Councilmember Glickert. <br />D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. <br />June 14, 2010, Study Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Price and carried <br />unanimously <br />2. <br />June 21, 2010, Regular Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Crow and carried <br />unanimously. <br />3. <br />June 28, 2010, Special Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Glickert and <br />carried unanimously <br />4. <br />June 28, 2010, Study Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Price and carried <br />unanimously <br />E. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. <br />Melcine Henderson was appointed to the Traffic Commission by Ms. Ricci, seconded by Mr. <br />Price and carried unanimously. <br />F. SWEARING IN <br />G. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed) <br />Rod Jennings, 1306 Mt. Olive <br />Mr. Jennings reminded and invited everyone to the University City High School Alumni Reunion <br />Family Picnic on July 31, 2010. He noted that this year they were expecting 2,000 to 2,500 <br />people and hoped the City and Washington University could work with them for next year to <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
