Mr. Jennings also requested an update of the program U Helps U. <br />Dominic Soda, 6925 Amherst <br />Mr. Soda wanted to express his thankfulness to the fire department and the police department <br />for the great response he received from his emergency call to them. He noted that because of <br />their rapid and professional response, his wife survived a heart attack and is doing well. He <br />thanked in particular from the Fire Department, Jeff Tobin, Lou Andert, Matt Pagano, Rick <br />Baker, Gary Wilmoth and from the Police Department, Officer Theodore Jackson and Sergeant <br />Jennifer McClain. <br />Tom Sullivan, 758 Kingsland <br />Mr. Sullivan expressed his concern about the dishonest and underhand way in which the City <br />Manager was selected. He said a new City Manager was selected and the public was shut out <br />and a search was never conducted. Mr. Sullivan said that this Council has the responsibility to <br />its citizens to use a selection process that would resolve in the best possible person for the City <br />Manager’s job. <br />Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert stated that in response to the Park Director’s comment of “some” people want the <br />pool open full time, she submitted an endorsement petition, with over 170 people signed stating <br />that they expect the pool to be open with full time hours. Comments she said she heard was <br />“that is the hottest part of the summer” and “we were not told that when we bought our passes.” <br />Ms. Glickert noted that in real business when labor is absent, management fills in. She also <br />passed out a list of local pools and their late summer hours. <br />H. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />I. CONSENT AGENDA <br />J. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. <br />Site Plan Review for Church – Kings Outreach Ministry, 7547 Olive Blvd. <br />Ms. Mitchell and Ms. Riganti were present for questions. <br />Ms. Ricci asked if a site plan was to go before the Plan Commission before it came to the <br />Council. Ms. Riganti stated that Site Plans do not go to the Plan Commission. She said <br />that normally a re-occupancy does not require a site plan but according to City’s ordinance, <br />a “tax-exempt” organization does and also needs to have Council’s approval. <br />Mr. Glickert asked Ms. Mitchell to enlighten the Council what an adult day care center is, <br />who is an adult and what it encompasses. Ms. Mitchell said it was for senior adults who <br />cannot maintain their regular activities during the day. She said the center will have to be <br />certified by the State. <br />Mr. Kraft asked about a conditional use permit that the Plan Commission will be reviewing <br />this week and Ms. Riganti said it was for a different site and a different zoning district. <br />Mr. Price moved for approval with all conditions recommended, was seconded by Mr. <br />Glickert and carried unanimously. <br /> 2 <br /> <br />
