Schooled <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe introduced his wife, Marian, his sister, Gloria, his good friends, <br />Geraldine Johnson and Edgar and Shirley Burnett. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Ware moved approval of the minutes of September 22, 1997. Mr. Lieberman <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the minutes of October 6, 1997. Mr. Munkel <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - SUPPORT OF DECENCY PRINCIPLE: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams read the resolution which stated that University City agreed with the <br />goals of adequate healthcare, affordable housing, safe childcare and fair wages for <br />its citizens and employees. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mr. Ware seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - SUPPORT OF QUARTER CENT SALES TAX FOR METROLINK: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams read the resolution which supports the efforts of St. Louis City and <br />County to put the quarter cent sales tax on the ballot in order to raise additional <br />monies for the expansion of MetroLink. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. David Smith, 7323 Maryland, said that on behalf of the Historic Neighborhood <br />Association, as well as the Coalition for Regional Transit, he would ask the <br />members of the Council, in considering support of this tax, to also consider the <br />requirements that were passed by the Council connected to various restrictions on <br /> <br /> <br />
