<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> SESSION 1314 <br /> <br /> <br /> MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSIrf CITY COUNCIL <br /> August 23, 1982 <br /> <br /> <br /> At a regular meeting of the 0ity Council of University City, held in the Assembly <br /> Room of the City Hall on Monday, August 23, 1982, Mayor Joseph W. Mooney presided <br /> and called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the follow- <br /> ing members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Lawrence Lieberman <br /> Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br /> Mrs. Cynthia Metcalfe <br /> Mr. Marvin B. Levy <br /> Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br /> Mrs, Betty L. Thompson <br /> I <br /> Also present were City Manager Frank Ollendorff and City Attorney Dennis Kay. <br /> i <br /> OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> Mayor Mooney said one of the pleasures of being mayor was to become acquainted <br /> with people who provide outstanding service to the community, and it was a privi- <br /> lege to ask Mr. Edward Whetsel, Mr. Daniel Terry and Mr. Joseph Curtis, who were <br /> recently appointed to the Board of the University City Loop Special Business Dis- <br /> trict, to step forward. They were given the oath of office by the City Clerk. <br /> Mayor Mooney said that University City ran on volunteer citizen input, and the will- <br /> ingness of these men to serve is very important to the City. <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> <br /> June 7, 1982 <br /> Mr. Adams moved that the minutes of June 7, 1982 be approved as received. Mr. <br /> Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> June 21, 1982 <br /> <br /> Mr. Adams moved approval of the minutes of June 21, 1982, as received, Mr. Levy <br /> seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S AGENDA <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR (THREE ITEMS) <br /> <br /> - Tax Waiver - 6832 Corbitt (#1). The City Manager recommended waiver of back taxes <br /> on a vacant lot west of 6832 Corbitt, following purchase by the adjacent owner from <br /> St. Louis County. The new owner will provide appropriate maintenance. <br /> Tax Waiver - 6820 Plymouth (#2). The City Manager recommended waiver of back taxes <br /> t and liens on property adjacent to 6822 Plymouth. The resident owner will use the <br /> property to enlarge his yard, <br />
