SESSION 1314 MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSIrf CITY COUNCIL August 23, 1982 At a regular meeting of the 0ity Council of University City, held in the Assembly Room of the City Hall on Monday, August 23, 1982, Mayor Joseph W. Mooney presided and called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the follow- ing members of the Council were present: Mr. Lawrence Lieberman Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. Mrs. Cynthia Metcalfe Mr. Marvin B. Levy Mr. Paul E. Schoomer Mrs, Betty L. Thompson I Also present were City Manager Frank Ollendorff and City Attorney Dennis Kay. i OATHS OF OFFICE Mayor Mooney said one of the pleasures of being mayor was to become acquainted with people who provide outstanding service to the community, and it was a privi- lege to ask Mr. Edward Whetsel, Mr. Daniel Terry and Mr. Joseph Curtis, who were recently appointed to the Board of the University City Loop Special Business Dis- trict, to step forward. They were given the oath of office by the City Clerk. Mayor Mooney said that University City ran on volunteer citizen input, and the will- ingness of these men to serve is very important to the City. MINUTES June 7, 1982 Mr. Adams moved that the minutes of June 7, 1982 be approved as received. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. June 21, 1982 Mr. Adams moved approval of the minutes of June 21, 1982, as received, Mr. Levy seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. CITY MANAGER'S AGENDA CONSENT CALENDAR (THREE ITEMS) - Tax Waiver - 6832 Corbitt (#1). The City Manager recommended waiver of back taxes on a vacant lot west of 6832 Corbitt, following purchase by the adjacent owner from St. Louis County. The new owner will provide appropriate maintenance. Tax Waiver - 6820 Plymouth (#2). The City Manager recommended waiver of back taxes t and liens on property adjacent to 6822 Plymouth. The resident owner will use the property to enlarge his yard,
