He said as-
surances must be given to residents that the contract would be let to the contractor
under the terms of the engineering drawings that would be reviewed by MSD, City en-
gineers, and the neighborhood to guarantee that there will be adequate removal of
stormwater in that area.
Mr. Robert Watson, 7546 Wayne, whose property on the southeast corner of Wayne and
Harrison bears the brunt of the stormwater overflow, was asked to come forward. Mr.
Watson said he went over the plans with the assistant city engineer, and they looked
fine, as long as there is no deviation. He asked what would be done to correct the
problem if the street resurfacing made the problem worse. Mr. Ollendorff was asked
to comment.
Mr. Ollendorff said the street was designed in such a way that it would address the
drainage problems, Proper engineering standards were adhered to, with several catch
basins added ar_d grates adjusted to give maximum access to the catch basins. He
said a great deal of time had beer. spent designing this street and he was confident
that the design would take care of the problem.
Mr. Lieberman said he was willing for the project to get under way, as long as the
City Manager understood that there will be close scrutiny of the project as it con-
tinues, and assurances must be given by the City that the plans will be fulfilled
