1 /5* SESSION 1309 MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL June 7, 1982 At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City, held in the Assembly Room of the City Hall on Monday, June 7, 1982, Mayor Joseph W. Mooney presided and called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: Mr. Lawrence Lieberman* Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. Mrs. Cynthia Metcalfe Mr. Marvin B. Levy Mr. Paul E. Schoomer Mrs. Betty L. Thompson Also present were City Manager Frank Ollendorff and City Attorney Dennis Kay.** MINUTES May 10, 1982 Mr. Schoomer moved that the minutes of May 10, 1982 be approved as received. Mr. Levy seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. May 17, 1982 Mr. Adams moved that the minutes of May 17, 1982 be approved as received. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. TRIBUTE TO DR. MAGNESS Mayor Mooney said the City suffered a great loss with the death of Dr. Guy Magness, who served University City as Director of the Board of Health since 1952, and as Director of School Health Services since 1931. The Mayor said Dr. Magness gave un- selfishly of his time to all, was very much admired and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. OATH OF OFFICE Mrs. Mary Watson, 1338 Rushmore, recently appointed to the Park Commission by the Council, was sworn in by the City Clerk. Mayor Mooney thanked Mrs. Watson, noting that the City depends greatly on volunteer services, and was much indebted to those who give so freely of their time. *Mr. Lieberman arrived at the meeting at 7:36 p.m. CITIZEN COMMENTS t Mr. Bernard Susman, 712 Brittany Lane, asked to address the Council. Mr. Susman said he appeared before the Council six weeks ago concerning the condition of Gay Avenue at its intersection with Gannon. He said that the street has since been re-
