<br />3. <br />Toughbook Laptops and docking stations (9). <br />World Wide Technology was the low bidder at $31,622.70. The City received a 100% grant <br />for this purchase. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved for approved, second by Mr. Crow and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. <br />A motion was requested to reserve Fiscal Year 2009-2010 funds for approved projects. <br />Council approved funding of three capital project for Fiscal Year 2009-2010 on May 3, 2010. <br />The three projects for $490,000 were <br /> <br /> Grant match for new fire station $200,000 <br /> <br /> Purchase of fire pumper $200,000 (with $350,000 from the reserves) <br /> <br /> Fire escape renovation $ 90,000 <br /> <br />Mr. Price noted the proposition that would have provided funds for some of the above did <br />not pass and now needed to be taken from the City’s reserves. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci noted that Mr. Price’s opinion was not that of all of the Council as that was not her <br />opinion. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Sharpe and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />K. COUNCIL ACTION ITEMS <br />1. <br />Council Report as related to Boards and Commissions <br />Mr. Glickert noted that at the Pension Board meeting came up with a good policy with the <br />Pension Board’s recommendation to lower the age in which a uniform member could retire <br />as long as they had twenty-five years of service with the City. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci said the Green Practice has been working diligently on their report for the Council. <br />She said they are also working on an ordinance to make this committee a formal <br />commission. She noted through the Park Commission, the sculpture that was dedicated in <br />Heman Park and was beautifully made under the guidance of Washington University <br />Architect/Professor and with the construction by his students in collaboration with University <br />City. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked Mr. Sharpe to present at the next Council meeting any issues he <br />would be voting, on behalf of U City at the National League of Cities Conference December <br />12. in Colorado. She also reminded Council that they have been asked to appoint to two <br />new task force members: one on walk and bike ability in U City and the other on seniors <br />and youth. She hopes to announce the members at the October 4 Council meeting. Mayor <br />Welsch will be meeting with members of the George Warren Brown School of Social Work <br />and UM St. Louis who are providing the City with input on the Seniors/Youth Task Force. <br />Next Monday a schedule of the upcoming budget meetings will be released with a draft <br />budget being presented to Council in February 2011. <br /> <br />L.
