NEW BUSINESS <br />RESOLUTIONS <br />1. <br />Resolution 2010 – 18 A resolution to participate in a Municipal Consortium toward <br />the maintenance or reduction of Street Lighting costs related to the Ameren UE 2010 <br />electric rate case, and to contribute funds to the St. Louis County Municipal League <br />for this purpose. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch, Mr. Kraft and Mr. Glickert recused themselves from voting as they <br />owned some Ameren UE stock. <br />Mr. Crow moved to adopt Resolution 2010 – 18 and was seconded by Mr. Price. <br /> <br />Pro-Tem Mayor Sharpe presented the resolution. <br />The vote to adopt Resolution 2010 – 18 carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Price asked Mr. Mulligan if a member might hold a fraction of stock in retirement <br />fund if it was required to recuse self under the Conflict of Interest law. Mr. Mulligan <br />stated he did not think it was an automatic disqualifier under the Conflict of Interest <br />laws. <br /> <br />2. <br />Resolution 2010 – 19 A resolution for University City to host the 2012 Statewide <br />Historic Preservation Conference <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved to adopt Resolution 2010 – 19, and was seconded by Mr. Glickert <br /> <br />Mr. Crow hoped that as we move forward the City would keep tract of what the cost is <br />for the City hosting it. <br /> <br />The vote to adopt Resolution 2010 – 19 carried unanimously <br /> <br />3. <br />Resolution 2010 – 20 A resolution for University City to establish a policy of <br />sweatshop-free procurement. <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENT: <br />Jerry Hochsczein, 7259 Princeton <br />Mr. Hochsztein just wanted to be available if anyone had any questions concerning <br />this resolution. With the passage of this resolution, University City will be a leader in <br />the state of Missouri. This resolution states that University City will not purchase its <br />uniforms from companies who mistreat their employees. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci noted that it was pointed out to her that some people working in the sweat <br />shops, it was their only source of income and wondered if that was an analysis <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br />
