He asked if they were comfortable with Mr. Price’s motion. Both Habitat <br />representatives answered in the affirmative. <br /> <br />Mr. Price would like to make a motion to add that a partnership with Habitat for Humanity be <br />based on an understanding that the new homes will be designed to blend into the <br />neighborhood. Mr. Glickert seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Ms. Sobotka asked how many communities they have worked with so far. And she asked if <br />any of these they were not built to blend in with the community. Ms. McKinney said that <br />Habitat has built three hundred and six homes in eleven communities and there have been <br />no problems of blending. <br /> <br />The vote to amend the document, according to Mr. Price’s motion, carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft disclosed that he and his sons have volunteered to work with Habitat for Humanity <br />and asked if anyone thought he would have a conflict of interest. No one came forward to <br />question his participation in the vote. <br />The original motion as amended carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. <br />Ferguson Bridge project. City match RY 10-11, $6,913.91; FY 12013 $3,015.84. <br />Mr. Walker stated the contract would be with SC Engineering, LLC doing business as <br />Cochran Engineering for a total of $99,297.47 with a University City match of $9,929.75, <br />Pagedale match of $9,929.75 and the Federal match of $79,437.97. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker introduced the new City Engineer, Sinan Alpaslan. He noted that Mr. Alpaslan <br />has an Master’s degree in engineering from Washington University and is a certified <br />Professional Engineer (P.E.) Mr. Walker said the City has not had a P.E. on staff for four <br />years. <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Sharpe and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. <br />Sewer Easement for Brittany Woods Middle School <br />Mr. Walker stated the School District and MSD are requesting a permanent sewer easement <br />through the southeast corner of Ruth Park. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved to approve, seconded by Mr. Sharpe and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />5. <br />Approval of Interim Technology Support Contract <br />Mr. Walker noted that for some years the City has contracted with Tech Electronics. Staff <br />has put out an official bid for technical support services for six months. Tech Electronics <br />responded to that RFP. Although Tech is not the lowest bidder, staff feels, since they are <br />familiar with the City’s system because of their previous work, staff recommends hiring the <br />company while the City evaluates their needs over the next six months. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft moved to approve and was seconded by Mr. Glickert. <br /> <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br />
