<br />BILLS <br />Introduced by Mr. Crow <br />4. <br />BILL 9107 – An ordinance amending Chapter 10.36of the University City Municipal <br />Code, relating to regulation for specific streets, by repealing Section 10.36.040 <br />thereof, relating to school zones designated, and enacting in lieu thereof a new <br />section to be known as “Section 10.36.040 school zones designated,” thereby <br />amending said section so as to extend the school zone on Pershing Avenue from <br />three hundred (300) feet east to Midvale Avenue to Big Bend Boulevard; containing a <br />savings clause and providing a penalty. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow said that he was noted in the Traffic Commission’s minutes that he wanted <br />to lift the traffic restrictions but his comments were that he wanted to extend them. <br /> <br />Introduced by Ms. Ricci <br />5. <br />BILL 9108 – An ordinance providing for the reimbursement of City Officials and <br />employees for expenses incurred by them in operating their own vehicles in <br />connection with their positions, and repealing Ordinance No. 6743. <br /> <br />Introduced by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. <br />6. <br />BILL 9109 – An ordinance amending Sections 2.14.010, 2.14.030 and 2.28.040 of <br />the University City Municipal Code, relating to the Department of Parks and <br />Recreations and the Park Commission, so as to reduce the number of members of <br />the Park Commission from nine to seven. <br /> <br />Introduced by Ms. Ricci <br />7. <br />BILL 9110 – An ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 6833 and enacting in lieu thereof <br />a new ordinance so as to reduce the number of members of the University City <br />Commission on Human Relations from nine to seven. <br /> <br />Mr. Price asked that an explanation be sent to the body as to how those reductions <br />will take place on Bill 9109 and 9110. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe said it would be done through attrition. <br /> <br />O. CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Gloria Nickerson, 7576 Blackberry <br />Ms. Nickerson spoke concerning her appointment to the Economic Sales Tax Board by Mayor <br />Adams and her subsequent removal. Attached to the end of these minutes are the exhibits A <br />though F and AA she asked to be made part of the record. She read the letter she received <br />from the City Clerk reappointing Gordon Myers to the Economic Sales Tax Board, stating the <br />review of her appoint by the City Attorney was in violation of the Sunshine Law. Ms. Nickerson <br />spoke of her meeting with Mayor Welsch and the subsequent letter she sent back to the Mayor <br />the next day. She said this had forced her to hire an attorney who wrote to the Mayor and <br />copied the City Manager. Ms. Nickerson asked for a public apology for defaming her and her <br />character.
