Mayor Welsch emailed out information about the River des Peres Community Meeting. A follow- <br />up report of the meeting may be available in January 2011. <br />b. The CORO Fellow has an updated report regarding the River des Peres issues. The report is <br />available in the Mayor’s Office. <br />7. Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) inventory update: <br />a. An update was provided by Joe Heneberry. He is a senior at St. Louis University, majoring in <br />Environmental Science and Economics. <br />b. Joe completed the Kirkwood GHG inventory in 2009. That report is available on the City of <br />Kirkwood website. <br />c. The U City report will have four major parts. 2005 will be the baseline year. The forecast years <br />will be 2010, 2015, 2025 and 2050 and will be based on St. Louis County growth factors. <br />d. Joe is working with the East-West Gateway Council of Governments for the St. Louis County <br />GHG inventory report. <br />e. Joe will develop and present the final information to City Council during a special council session. <br />Donna asked Joe to conduct the presentation as he is most familiar with the U City GHG <br />inventory. Joe will answer questions at jheneberry@ucitymo.org <br />f. Lynnette will ask Joyce Pumm for a date in March or April for a special council session. GPC <br />will present the GHG inventory, provide an update on the street light audit and updates on the <br />February Town Hall public meetings. The GPC final Sustainability Plan will be sent to the City <br />Council members 2-3 weeks before the special council session. <br />8. TrailNet Community Planning grant: <br />a. Michael O’Neal, the Mayor’s liaison to the U City Bike and Walk Task Force, provided an update <br />on the TrailNet Community Planning grant awarded to University City. <br />b. The Bike and Walk Task Force will work with TrailNet and the H3 consulting firm to develop and <br />design a University City Bike and Walk Community Plan within the next 9 months. <br />st <br />c. The Bike and Walk Task Force meetings are the 1 Tuesday of each month, 6:30 p.m., at <br />Centennial Commons. <br />d. TrailNet will have a conference on June 3, 2011. Neville reported on a Post-Dispatch article about MSD rain gardens in University City. The rain <br />gardens installed in the back yards of six properties in the 8300 blocks of Gannon and Cornell. <br />thst <br />b. A block party will be scheduled in May (on the 15 or 21) after the plants have bloomed. <br />c. MSD, The Missouri Botanical Garden, The Green Center and St. Louis Composting partnered on <br />the rain garden project. <br />10. Items tabled to the January meeting: <br />a. Action items from the Sustainability Plan study session. Committee members are to submit report <br />revisions to Lois. The report will be revised, issued as “final” and posted on the U City website. <br />b. Commission Draft Ordinance review and revisions. The ordinance draft will be sent to all <br />members to review and edit before the January meeting. <br />c. Specifications for the Energy Audits for City Buildings. <br />nd <br />11.
