CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed)

Dan Martin, 740 Trinity Ave.
Mr. Martin as a member of the Arts and Letters Commission stated that the commission
members were not happy about Tom McCarthy’s lay-off as he felt he was one of the hardest
workers in the City. He noted from afar that the Council meetings were pretty messed up and
the people he trusted have turned out to be some of the craziest ones. Mr. Martin said the
Council needs to figure out how to get together because they are experiencing the same thing
as in marriages, when there are financial difficulties.

Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave
Mr. Dockett said he saw the whole Council during the February 14, 2011 meeting and said the
only thing that moved on Byron Price were his lips. He said he did not remove from the seat or
poke at anybody. He said the Council needs to make sure that civility is the order of the day.

Gloria Nickerson, 7576 Blackberry
Ms. Nickerson said for the record she has been commenting on the U City Patch. She asked
this Council to live up to the oath they have taken. Ms. Nickerson said it was time the Council
stopped bullying the citizens of University City. She said she takes offense to those who
compare University City to Kirkwood and what took place there has nothing to do with what is
going on in University City.

Mae Etta Weston, 1595 Mendell Dr.

3
