Session 1744 <br />January 25, 1999 <br /> <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion. The roll call vote was <br />as follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, <br />Mr. Sharpe, Mayor Adams NAYS: none. Bill Number 8411 passed and became Ordinance <br />Number 6193. <br /> <br />LEGISLATIVE ALERT FROM MISSOURI MUNICIPAL LEAGUE: <br /> <br />The MML has alerted all municipalities of the alarming turn of events in the Missouri <br />Legislature, especially involving current policies regarding collective public employee <br />bargaining. Mr. Schoomer noted that opposition of this was the number one priority of the <br />County and State municipal leagues and it would be up to the Council to get in touch with <br />the city's legislators and let them know how important this is. Mr. Wagner asked that <br />letters be sent to legislators properly noting our concern and resupporting our position. <br /> <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT BOND ISSUE: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe announced that the Council would be receiving a packet of information from the <br />tax committee of the School Board asking for Council's support for the upcoming bond <br />issue election coming up at the April 6, 1999 election. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams asked for a resolution to be prepared for the next meeting in support of the <br />School Board bond election. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that the next regular Council meeting was scheduled for February <br />8, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br /> '.J 'Leisha K.
