topic, very little local interest. Also, it seems that there is already film; they want funding to go back to Haiti and film
more.
12. Monument at Bergers: most were interested in the topic as a local one, and timely with emphasis of veterans.
The big question is can he actually get interviews with some veterans. Jim thinks his is straying too far from his
original story line.
13. Sold on U City: Eleanor has seen the entire Centennial Film (she did the Voice Over work), and says that it does
absolutely everything Ms. Thierry wants except for a section on the school system. To fund this with be to a great
extent redundant. Also, is this in effect aiding her business? A 'lively discussion' followed about the perception of our
school district
Eleanor moved that we allocate $375.00 to purchase one hundred Centennial Videos (Steve Behrens quoted us a
price of $3.75 each), and give them to Ms Theirry to distribute to realtors. Eric seconded, approved by
acclamation.
Cameron announce the top six projects, according to the scoring. In order, they are Monument at Bergers,
Wehrenberg 100 Years, A Sewer Runs through it, Different Way of Life, Something about Webster, and Old St
Ferdinand Shrine. Eric moved that these six be invited to speak at the February 15th meeting; Ed seconded,
approved by acclamation.
Due to conflicts, we agreed to begin the February 15th meeting at 5:00 p.m.
Cameron will contact the six,we have chosen, and invite them for 15 minutes each, beginning at 5:15 p.m.
Eleanor moved that we grant Steve Behrens the additional $4000.00 he is requesting due to the fact that the
Centennial film ended up being a longer film than planned Gladys seconded. Discussion followed, with Jim stating
that he wanted to know more about why; if we commissioned him for a 30 minute film, who authorized him to go to
60, though Jim stated that he is not against granting the additional money. Eleanor stated that this is certainly as
important a project to U.C. and CALOP as the 100 year dvd, for which we allocated $40,000, and this additional
money will bring the cost of this project to $19,000. After continued discussion, Eleanor withdrew her motion, and will
request additional information from Steve, and raise this again at the next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 845 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Eleanor Mullin, Secretary
