9. Mississippi Ironclads: Mr. Riggs reported that Mr. Tudor delivered a test sample <br />and plans to complete the film at the end of December. <br /> <br />Mr. Nickels relayed a comment by Elsie Glickert that there was no information available <br />about the films. Signs about the films may be placed in the Library. <br /> <br />Mr. Nickels discussed the manner in which copies and originals of the films are stored. <br />Mr. Nickels stated that CALOP may look into getting an archival grant and working with <br />the City to get an idea of cost to make an archive in the Old Library. <br /> <br />Mr. Friedman reported that Brent Jaimes, the filmmaker for A Different Way of Life, was <br />recording communities and has a lot of raw footage. <br /> <br />Treasurer’s Report <br />Mr. Friedman reported that the commission was getting the financial reports needed <br />and that they would be sent out before the meeting. Mr. Friedman explained the format <br />of the reports, which included monthly revenue and expenses. <br /> <br />Mr. Friedman reviewed the budget for the 2008 fiscal year. It was noted that account <br />titles were different than what was submitted by CALOP. Mr. Friedman asked that Ms. <br />Lay acquire the CALOP budget submitted to Janet Watson and compare it to language <br />that appears in the Finance Department’s printout. <br /> <br />Mr. Friedman reported that the commission was working to make sure grant contracts <br />and proposals are on file. <br /> <br />Grant Round Discussion <br />The commission discussed whether there should be a grant round in the fall. A motion <br />to establish two grant rounds October 1 and March 1 annually was made by Ms. Mullin, <br />seconded by Ms. Creer, and approved. <br /> <br />The commission also discussed updating the grant round documents and <br />judging/review of the applications. Ms. Lay will send the grant round documents to the <br />commissioners for amendments and suggestions. Commissioner should have their <br />suggestions in by the end of the week. Ed Nickels will review the suggestions and make <br />the any changes. <br /> <br />Mr. Nickels asked that the documents be set up on the website for quicker review. <br /> <br />Educational Committee <br />Mr. Friedman reported that the educational committee would be meeting with University <br />City School District officials in July. <br /> <br />#15 Princeton Proposal Report <br />Mr. Nickels relayed that the owners had started on renovations. Mr. Nickels noted that <br />the RFP deadline is August 2. A motion to select members of the commission to review <br />3 <br /> <br />
