Reading and Approval of Minutes <br />The commission reviewed the June 14, 2007 minutes. A motion to approve the minutes <br />was made by Mr. Kirchherr, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, and approved. <br /> <br />Chairperson’s Report <br />Mr. Nickels reported that he talked with Petree Eastman, Assistant to the City Manager, <br />regarding the Digital City Remix film and use of copyrighted materials. A copy of the film <br />and contract will be provided to Petree Eastman and a legal opinion will be sought <br />regarding the matter. <br /> <br />Mr. Nickels reported that James Scott, filmmaker for William Clark: The Aftermath of <br />Glory requested two payment installments. Mr. Nickels explained that initially a full <br />contract had not been executed; but, after follow-up and agreement on language, a <br />contract was executed between CALOP and St. Louis University so payment will be <br />issued. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson’s Report <br />No report. Report on the status of the Oral History Project was provided earlier. <br /> <br />Liaison Report <br /> <br />1. Monument in Skip Berger’s Garage: Ms. Creer reported that David McCahan <br />stated that he sent a letter to CALOP explaining that the project was no longer in <br />progress and he was returning the funds provided by CALOP. Ms. Lay will follow <br />up. <br />2. Searching for Dred Scott: Mr. Kirchherr reported that Ms. Harness experienced <br />some delays in production, but believes the film can finish by the end of the year. <br />Mr. Kirchherr will invite Ms. Harness to appear before the commission for a <br />status report before final payment is made. <br />3. Roof on Fire: Mr. Wilcox reported that Mr. Noble videotaped Wabash <br />performances. <br />4. Wehrenberg Theatres First 100 Years: Mr. Wilcox informed the commission that <br />Mr. Byington may come to the meeting. Mr. Wilcox also reported that Mr. <br />Byington was coming along with the written script and footage. <br />5. Old St. Ferdinand Shrine: Mr. Kirchherr contacted Ms. Gantz who was happy to <br />have someone to report to. Ms. Gantz requested copies of invoices that she <br />submitted to CALOP. Ms. Lay reported that the invoices were mailed to Ms. <br />Gantz. <br />6. Portrait of Ed Dowling: Mr. Riggs reported that the Mr. Martin was getting back <br />on course with the project. <br />7. Johnnie Be Good: Mr. Riggs noted that some of the film will be showed at the <br />Johnnie Johnson tribute next week. <br />8. Elijah Lovejoy Parish Society: Mr. Riggs reported that Robert Tabscott submitted <br />a letter outlining the focus of the film. Mr. Riggs will ask Mr. Tabscott to appear <br />before the commission. <br />2 <br /> <br />
