<br />Minutes of the CALOP Meeting <br />nd <br />University City City Hall, 2 Floor Conference Room <br />Thursday, November 29, 2007, 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:18 p.m. in the Conference Room, Second Floor of City <br />Hall. <br /> <br />In attendance were Ed Nickels, Eleanor Mullin, Gladys Creer, Mae Etta Weston, Bob Wilcox, <br />Jim Kirchherr, Dennis Riggs, and Genise Lay. Also present were Liz Lippa, Margaret Bilinsky, <br />Jay Kanzler, Alicia Hottle, Mike Steinberg, Thomas Crone, Dick Welsch and Anthony West. <br /> <br />Mr. Nickels explained to the commissioners that each grant interviewee would be informed <br />about the processes instituted for successful grant recipients such as CALOP’s grant contract, <br />payment regulations, and the liaison program. <br /> <br />Mr. Nickels also discussed the #15 Princeton Renovation film. Mr. Nickels reported that some <br />film shooting had taken place and repairs/renovations were taking place. Mr. Nickels noted that <br />the windows will be installed in January; there would be a lull in filming until that time. <br /> <br />The commission set aside its regular agenda and interviewed applicants about the project and <br />funding request outlined in their 2007 Fall Grant Round Application for Funding: <br /> <br />Funding <br />Proposed Requested <br />Applicant from CALOP <br />Film Project <br />Liz Lippa & Margaret Bilinsky Hidden Children of the Holocaust $5,830 <br />Jay Kanzler St. Benedict’s Rule $10,000 <br />Alicia Hottle Woman Centered Child Births $5,000 <br />Mike Steinberg & Thomas Crone A.O.R. STL $10,000 <br />1 <br />$31,200 <br />Tony West A City Challenged <br /> <br /> <br />After the conclusion of the interviews, the commission determined that $20,000 was available <br />for grant allocations for the 2007 fall grant round. <br /> <br />The commission then determined what projects would be funded and the amount granted. <br /> <br />The commissioners agreed to fund Hidden Children of the Holocaust. A motion to fund $5,830 <br />to Hidden Children of the Holocaust was made by Mr. Friedman, seconded by Ms. Weston, and <br />approved. <br /> <br />The commissioners approved funding St. Benedict’s Rule. A motion to fund $7,000 was made <br />by Mr. Friedman, seconded by Mr. Kirchherr, and approved. <br /> <br />The commissioners did not approve funding Woman Centered Child Births. <br /> <br />Commissioners approved funding A.O.R. STL. A motion to fund $7,000 was made by Ms. <br />Mullin, seconded by Ms. Creer, and approved. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />
