Elijah Parish Lovejoy Society: Mr. Nickels reported that an information packet was <br />submitted by the filmmaker. Mr. Nickels and Mr. Riggs will review the packet and meet with <br />the filmmaker. <br />Knock, Knock America: Mr. Nickels reported that the film was close to completion. <br />Searching for Dred Scott: No report available. <br />Portrait of Edward Dowling: No report available. <br />William Clark Aftermath of Glory: Ms. Weston reported that a seven-minute video was <br />completed and that Mr. Scott, the filmmaker, was willing to present the video to the <br />commission. Ms. Weston also reported that the filmmaker plans to complete the film in <br />September. Mr. Scott will be added to the next meeting’s agenda. <br />Mississippi Ironclads: Mr. Riggs reported that the project was completed and submitted, <br />but was unacceptable. <br /> <br />The commission discussed how CALOP handles outstanding/overdue projects. A motion was <br />made by Mr. Friedman and seconded by Mr. Wilcox that the commission write individuals a <br />letter asking them for an update on the status of the project which CALOP gave a grant for <br />in (year), that CALOP expected by 2008 that the project would be complete; and provide <br />status report in next 30 days otherwise CALOP may have to revoke the grant. <br /> <br />Mr. Friedman amended the motion to have Ms. Lay look at the contract and put on the <br />letter the date for completion and any reporting contract period, and put in the letter to <br />send response to the Chairman. The motion was approved as amended. Ms. Lay will draft <br />the letter and forward to Mr. Friedman for approval. <br /> <br />Hidden Children of the Holocaust: Ms. Creer reported that the filmmaker had received <br />payment, submitted an activity report, and expects to be finished by the end of the year. <br />Ms. Creer also distributed a preliminary script prepared by the filmmaker. Ms. Creer noted <br />that the filmmaker had questions about copyright laws; Ms. Creer will direct the filmmaker <br />to VLAA. <br />A Different Way of Life: Mr. Friedman reported that the filmmaker was moving along and <br />hoped to have it done because he plans to submit for another grant. <br />Sutter Meyer House: Mr. Nickels reported that the project was on hold to do more <br />footage. <br />A Sewer Runs Through It: Mr. Nickels reported that the filmmaker hopes to have the <br />project done soon. <br />No reports were provided for the following projects: Roof on Fire; Johnnie Be Good; <br />Wehrenberg Theatres’ First 100 Years; Oral History Project; St. Benedict’s Rule; and A.O.R. <br />STL. <br />Old Business <br />A motion to recommend to Council that Jim Reeves be appointed to the commission was <br />made by Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Ms. Creer, and approved. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br />There being no further business before the commission, a motion to adjourn was made by <br />Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Ms. Creer, and approved.
