<br />Minutes of the CALOP Meeting <br />nd <br />University City City Hall, 2 Floor Conference Room <br />Thursday, April 17, 2008, 6:00 PM <br /> <br /> <br />Commission members present: Ed Nickels, Eleanor Mullin, Mae Etta Weston, Eric Friedman, <br />Gladys Creer, Bob Wilcox, James Reeves, Dennis Riggs, and City Councilmember L. Michael <br />Glickert. Commission members absent: Marla Roach and Karol Walters. Also present: <br />Genise Lay. <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Mr. Nickels at 6:09 p.m. in the Conference Room, <br />Second Floor of City Hall. <br /> <br />Mr. Nickels introduced James Reeves, newly appointed member of the commission. Mr. <br />Reeves filled the seat resigned by Jim Kirchherr. <br /> <br />Reading and Approval of Minutes <br />The commission reviewed minutes from February 28, 2008, and March 31, 2008. Ms. Lay <br />informed the commission of Mr. Freidman’s proposed amendment to page 2, paragraph 6, <br />line 6 of the February 28, 2008 minutes: “…subcommittee and will include exhibits that will <br />include [the deliverables and specifics of the agreement. The deliverables will <br />include] outlining work parameters, a timeline for….” A motion to approve the minutes <br />was made by Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Ms. Creer, and approved. <br /> <br />Grant Round Applications <br />The commission reviewed nine grant round applications. The following applicants will be <br />contacted for an interview with the commission: <br /> <br />Grant Applicant Proposed Film Project <br />Melissa Kelman A Divine Dance <br />Phillip W. Johnson Misdirection Running of the Bulldogs <br />The Institute for Peace and Justice Moving the Mountain <br />Curtis L. Minor Trailblazers – The History of Meachum Park, MO <br />Midwest Center for Media Literacy U City Sleuths: Uncovering the Hidden Stories of <br /> a Unique Community <br /> <br />The following applicants were eliminated from further consideration: <br /> <br />Grant Applicant Proposed Film Project <br />Stephanie Raven For the Love of Music <br />Allen Singleton Last of the Big Time Lovers <br />Najah Haqiqah Spotlight Film Festival <br />Bryan Misuraca Where Rivers Meet (Giant Catfish Hour) <br /> <br />Chair Report <br />Mr. Nickels reported that he was still working on the five-year plan, which would include <br />suggestions submitted by Ms. Weston. <br /> <br />Vice-Chair Report <br />Ms. Mullin reported that she was finishing revisions to the five-year plan. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />
